Bread Pakora
The humble breakfast for many, and at times the perfect companion to a rainy evening, bread pakoras have fans all over the world. The flavourful crunch, the tantalizing filling, and pure satisfaction one feels on having a hot piece of bread pakora are immeasurable! They are delightful, fluffy, and can easily be made at home. There are many variations of a bread pakora recipe, but this one has us salivating for its simplicity and burst of flavour.

ingredients
For the filling-
- Amool Bread Slices – 6
- Oil – for frying
- Potatoes – 2, medium, boiled & mashed
- Green Chilli – 1 finely chopped
- Coriander Leaves – as per taste
- Amchoor – ¼ tsp
- Garam Masala – a pinch
- Red Chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – as per taste
For the batter-
- Gram Flour (Besan) – 1 cup
- Rice Flour – 1tbsp
- Baking Soda – a pinch
- Red Chilli Powder – 1/4th tsp
- Water – as needed
- Salt – as per taste
Method
- Add green chilli, coriander leaves, spices, salt to mashed potatoes and mix finely with a spoon till a smooth mix is achieved and voila, your masala is ready!
- To prepare the batter, add the spices and baking powder to your dry gram flour and mix well with fork. Please ensure you are using a wide mouthed bowl for this.
- Add water and mix well till a dripping consistency has been achieved.
- Lay a slice of Amool Bread flat on the surface and spread the filling on it evenly with a spoon.
- Cover it with another slice of Amool Bread and press down gently. You may then cut the sandwich layout diagonally, from the center to halve the sandwich or quarter it to make smaller bread pakoras. Repeat the process for all Amool Bread Slices.
- Dip each piece into the batter such that every part is evenly coated.
- Deep fry in heated oil till the surface turns golden brown.
- Remove from the wok and serve hot with chutney or ketchup
